The Cailleach Clan was drawn to Cwl Gen by the wealth it promised. Aneirin, the Clan's leader, tested the strength of the Orcs and Goblins who dwelled there with penetrating raids. Over time, the reputation of the great Dwarven strategist and ferocious fighter grew. He drew other Clans to his banner and captured more of the hold, establishing a home.
The Cailleach Clan basked in its new found wealth and power, the conquests of Aneirin written as tales of glory and triumphs for the Dwarfs. But he was not satisfied. He spent many years planning a surge that would finally exterminate the evil from Cwl Gen. Never seeing his dream fulfilled, the campaign took his life. So venerated were his abilities, the Clans wore black for an entire year in mourning.
The threat of Orcs and Goblins and horrors from the Abyss are still an ever present threat. The Cailleach Clan retain the black uniform as a mark of respect for their great warrior and leader. Young leaders like Cadwalader live for war, lured by the chance to earn a reputation and a share of the unimaginable riches conquests can bring. Other clans look to them with respect as they go about their bloody business with grim determination.
